Eyewear Style Guide
First impressions count... that's how the saying goes - but it's also true. Your glasses are usually the first thing someone notices about you so spending time choosing the right frame will help you make a great style impression first time.
In order to choose well, you need to consider a few things; your skin tone, personal style and face shape - knowing what suits you can really bring out the best in your features and make you feel great.
SKIN TONE
It's best to choose a frame colour that enhances your natural skin tone rather than one that will wash you out or make your features look harsh.
Warm skin tones have shades of yellow, peach or gold in the complexion. Choose frames in gold, red, orange, olive green, light tortoiseshell, rose gold or caramel and coffee brown. Those with a cool complexion have undertones of pink or blue and are best suited to frames in silver, grey, navy, purple, black and dark tortoiseshell.
Next, consider your own personal style and the image you want to create. Think about your lifestyle, does it encompass a number of different activities and interests? We all have different clothes and accessories for different parts of our life and your glasses should be the same.... don't ruin a formal outfit with your office specs! Making your own style rules can be a fun and expressive way to show your individuality - so be brave, creative and bold...
FACE SHAPES
Finally to get the perfect frames for you, consider the shape of your face and if you already have a pair of frames you love but you fancy a new pair use these as a guide. Look inside your existing frames for the 3 magic numbers which dictate the size of the frame including lens width, bridge width and temple length.
To gauge your face shape, stand in front of the mirror and review your facial features to determine which of the shapes you resemble. Take a look at the guide below to see which frame styles will suit you best, then browse our collections via that shape.... but, this is just a guide - if you really like the look of a pair of frames then own it!
